What are the requirements?

At least 10 years of professional experience, deep and current Africa-specific expertise, willingness to complete compliance vetting, and the ability to communicate clearly with an institutional audience.

Question 3

How long is the vetting process?

Accepted Answer

Typically 5–10 business days. We verify identity, credentials and employment history, run conflict and restricted-list screening, and assess the currency of your expertise. We may come back with follow-up questions.

What if I am rejected?

You will be told the reason where we are able to share it. Rejection is often about network fit or timing rather than your credentials, and you may reapply after six months.

Question 5

How do I set my rate?

Accepted Answer

You set your own hourly rate in USD during onboarding, and you can change it at any time. You receive 100% of your stated rate. Our fee sits in the published price the client pays and is never deducted from you.

How do I manage my availability?

Through your availability calendar in the expert portal. Set recurring windows, block dates, and adjust your timezone. You are only shown invitations that fall within your stated availability.

What happens during a consultation?

A 30, 45 or 60-minute one-to-one call, usually with a Afrisapients associate present as moderator. You discuss only what falls within your declared scope. You may end the call at any time if a question approaches a boundary.

How do I get paid?

In USD, within 15 business days of a completed consultation. Payment details are configured in your portal. You can see every consultation, its status and its payment in your earnings dashboard.

What are the compliance requirements?

Before each consultation you complete a conflict of interest declaration and confirm employer consent where applicable. You must decline topics involving material non-public information, current-employer confidential matters without consent, or anything your professional obligations restrict. Can I decline a consultation?

Accepted Answer

Always, and without giving a reason. Declining does not affect your standing in the network. We would far rather you decline than take a consultation you should not.
